Health and Mental Health Awareness Fair to Return on April 26

by Daphne Watson

Greater New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church will host its annual Health and Mental Health Awareness Fair on April 26, providing a valuable resource for the community’s well-being.

Pastor W.J.E. Coombs of Greater New Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church shared that the fair is rooted in a deep concern for the health of the community. “The inspiration for our annual medical and mental health fair stems from a profound concern for the health and well-being of our community,” Coombs explained. “Throughout history, there have been numerous challenges in accessing proper healthcare, particularly for people of color. The church has always been a vital source of information that inspires, informs, and educates. Seven years ago, I felt a calling to use our church as a bridge between medical and mental health professionals.”

The event aims to connect community members with healthcare providers and mental health experts, offering education, screenings, and resources to improve access to essential services.
